Family Activities

  • Aire de jeux-Brissac

    Playgrounds and swimming areas

Beautiful playgrounds in an idyllic surounding: the opportunity for a relaxed picnic break with the family...

Example in the park of Brissac, crossed by the little river Avèze and overlooked by its castle: the castle is private but after the games a stroll around is highly recommended: narrow alleys, beautiful points of view on the Cévennes and an old paper mill factory ... Back in the park, the small bar-restaurant of the village opens its arms to you for a drink or a meal.
The "Hérault" and "la Vis" rivers offer several supervised swimming areas. For example around the bridge of Saint Etienne d'Issensac (2 km) but also in Laroque, a lovely village on the edge of Hérault which is worth a visit. You can feed the ducks there, watch the canoes go by or rent a pedal boat ...

    Sporting and cultural activities

The sports described in the section "outdoor activities" are accessible to children but subjected to age (some from 4 years old).

3 tree climbing sites are around us, including the closest and the largest 30 minutes away:accrodiable-aventure.

What if it rains? The Clamouse cave, in addition to the classic visit, offers 2 original activities: the "speleopark" and "the cave escape" (25 minutes from here); in the village (5 minutes) "Couleur Demesterres" gives family pottery lessons and workshops ... Lots of other "family" ideas (animals, treasure hunt ...) in our welcome booklet.

Finally, in May-June, Bouillon Cube offers the young audience festival "La Dinette": puppet shows, circus, dance, theater, storytelling or music in and around our village.

    On prehistory

A little focus on our prehistoric past: our area is full of rather unknown remains and the theme often interests children, hence this section!

Lots of megaliths in the Hérault, the closest (and easily accessible) of which is the "dolmen des drailles". Not far from there, the archaeological site of Cambous, a vestige of a village more than 5000 years old, offers workshops in addition to the visit. The Maison des Consuls aux Matelles (pretty medieval village) exhibits tools, pottery ... from the Paleolithic era.

And on the unusual side: the Mas Mouth in Montoulieu is both a restaurant from May to September and a place for courses and workshops on prehistory ...
